US Court Terms Trump Tariffs Illegal, How Did He React?

In a setback to US President Donald Trump, a US court ruled that many of Trump’s tariffs, which have caused a stir in global trade, were illegal. However, Trump reaffirmed that all tariffs imposed on other countries would remain in effect. If removed, it would be ‘disastrous to the country’.  However, for now, the court allowed the tariffs to remain in place, giving Trump time to take the fight to the Supreme Court.

After this, Trump posted on Truth Socia: “ALL TARIFFS ARE STILL IN EFFECT! Today a Highly Partisan Appeals Court incorrectly said that our Tariffs should be removed, but they know the United States of America will win in the end. If these Tariffs ever went away, it would be a total disaster for the Country. It would make us financially weak, and we have to be strong.”

“The U.S.A. will no longer tolerate enormous Trade Deficits and unfair Tariffs and Non Tariff Trade Barriers imposed by other Countries, friend or foe, that undermine our Manufacturers, Farmers, and everyone else. If allowed to stand, this Decision would literally destroy the United States of America.”

Further, Trump said that the tariffs are the best tool to help the workers and support companies manufacturing ‘Made in America’ products.

Our uncaring and unwise politicians allowed the tariffs to be used against us. Now, with the help of the US Supreme Court, we will use them to the benefit of our Nation, and Make America Rich, Strong, and Powerful Again!

Along with Trump, his Cabinet officials also argued that ruling the global tariffs illegal and blocking them would hurt US foreign policy and national security. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick said they could also ‘derail critical ongoing negotiations’ with partners.

After returning to power for a second time, Donald Trump showed the US’ economic power to punish countries to countries not agreeing to one-sided trade deals.
