Hyderabadi Student Dies In US Car Crash

A 20-year-old Hyderabadi student named Mohammed Zahid tragically lost his life in a horrific car accident in the United States on September 7. Zahid, son of Mohammed Ismail, hailed from the Old Malakpet area of Hyderabad.

According to the reports, Mohammed Zahid moved to the US in July 2024 to pursue a degree in a health professional course at the University of Bridgeport. He was reportedly on his way back to his room from college when the mishap occurred. He was rushed to the St. Vincent Medical Center at Hartford Healthcare hospital, where he breathed his last while undergoing treatment.

MBT official and ex-Corporator Amjed Ullah Khan has appealed to External Affairs Minister Jaishankar and the officials of the Ministry of External Affairs to immediately take measures to bring back Zahid’s body to Hyderabad as soon as possible.

Amjed Ullah Khan told the media that neither the Washington Embassy nor the New York Consulate has responded to his attempts to get a temporary visa for Zahid’s grieving parents. He has also appealed to Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to intervene and aid Zahid’s parents.
