Trump ‘Softens’ Stand on Professional Experts Migrating to US

US President Donald Trump, who had been advocating an anti-immigrant policy since he assumed power, admitted that the nation requires foreign employees to work in industries established by global companies in the US. For the first time since he rose to power, Trump seems to have softened his stance on professional experts after its ally South Korea issued warning that they would think twice to invest in the US.

As part of the anti-immigrant policy, the Trump government has been cracking down on illegal immigrants and tightening the rules for issuance of visas. The authorities had identified several immigrants violating the rules and deporting them. Recently, the Homeland Security officials detained over 475 illegal immigrants in Georgia. A majority of them belong to South Korea and migrated to the US to work in the Hyundai company set up in the US.

Basing on reliable information, the authorities conducted raids on the Hyundai Car company in Georgia and detained them. This move strained the diplomatic relations between the two nations. Reacting on the incident, South Korean President Lee Jae Myung said that South Korea-based business firms were hesitating to invest in the US.

Myung’s statement startled Trump and taking to Truth Social, he posted that foreign companies investing in America and involved in manufacturing some complex products would need employees having expertise. Trump said that he expects the companies to being such professional experts to the US and get the US workers trained in the skill. Then they should be sent back. “If we didn’t do this, all of that massive investment will never come in the first place – Chips, semiconductors, computers, ships, trains and so many other products that we have to learn from others… “

He continued: “I don’t want to frighten off or disincentivize investment into America by outside countries or companies. We welcome them, we welcome their employees, and we are willing to proudly say we will learn from them and do even better than them at their own “game,” sometime into the not too distant future!”  It has to be seen how far would Trump will walk the talk.
