Shocking Report: 50% Of US College Grads Are Underemployed!

It is an established fact that the United States of America is the most favoured destination for higher studies and better employment opportunities. But it appears that the situation is not all that promising, even in the U.S. now.

According to the latest developments, it is being established that nearly half of the college graduates in the United States are working in jobs that do not require skilled degree.

As per studies by the Burning Glass Institute and Strada Education Foundation, it is reported that roughly half of recent bachelor’s graduates are underemployed, working in jobs not requiring a degree.

According to this report, around 52% of the recent graduates in colleges across the United States are working in non skilled jobs like labour, hospitality, and other gigs.

One of the contributing factors for this phenomena could be the disproportionately large volume of the international population that has been travelling to the country for higher studies. Countries like India, China, and others have topped the charts when it comes to international students traveling to the U.S.

Adding to the influx in international students, the ongoing recession has largely cut down skilled jobs and this is reflecting in the underemployment sector. The artificial intelligence could be another contributing factor here as it has largely downsized the job market.
