Trump’s $100K H1B Fee: Crucial Federal Judgement Out!

One of the notorious and infamous restrictions placed by the Donald Trump administration and the United States immigration authorities is the imposition of $100K fee on new H1B applications. 

This unexpected decision was bound to be challenged at the Federal court and the same is happening now. As many as 20 states in the United States have challenged this decision by the Trump administration.

However, when this case came to a hearing at the federal court, the judgement was largely in favour of the Trump administration as a federal judge ruled in favour of the Trump administration decision regarding the HNB processing fee.

While hearing the earlier petition that was filed by the United States chamber of commerce, which contradicted the Trump decision regarding H1B fee, a federal judge stated that it’s within the government jurisdiction to impose such fees. 

This is essentially a win for the Trump administration as they can proceed with the imposition of this massive fee on H1B visa processing. At the same time, this would largely constrain the prospects of the Indian community which relies on H1B visas for work.
