The United States has a standing conflict with Russia and Venezuela, and this had recently resulted in seizure of an oil tanker vessel named Marinera which belongs to Russia. The point of concern for the Indian community here is that this ship reportedly had a total of 28 crew members, including three Indians.
This massive oil tanker vessel which was seized in the Caribbean Sea by the United States authorities had three Indian crew members on board and they are currently in the custody of the United States authorities.
This Russian oil vessel is reportedly linked to Venezuela, and this is the reason why the US authorities seized it in the first place. The authorities have taken the crew members, including the three Indians into custody and getting the case on priority.
Russia has called for immediate action and advised the US to release the crew members immediately. They have called for humane treatment of the crew members in this seizure operation.
The United States has started to go extremely hard on the oil reserve of Venezuela after arresting their president recently. This is the reason why they allegedly seized the Russian oil vessel in Caribbean Sea after suspecting that it has linked to Venezuela. The sad part here is that this oil tanker has three Indian crew members on board and their safety is to be taken care of now.
