Trump Explains Viral Hand Bruise, Dismisses Health Rumours

Amidst speculations of health issues, US President Donald Trump’s hand bruise pictures have gone viral. Rejecting the rumours, Trump said that the bruise on his left hand is a result of blood-thinning effects of aspirin, which he regularly takes as a medicine. He ruled out that it was caused due to a serious injury.

Speaking to mediapersons aboard Air Force One during his return from the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, he said he bumped a table and that it led to the bruise. He said taking aspirin daily had made him more prone to bruising.

Trump, who is 79-year-old, said that his doctor advised him not to take aspirin in higher dosage but he is still doing it as he likes his heart. “But don’t take aspirin if you don’t want to have a little bruising,” he said, adding that he takes the big aspirin.

The doctor said: “You don’t need to take that, sir. You’re very healthy.”

But Trump said that he does not want to take any chances. Earlier this month, Trump told the Wall Street Journal that he takes more aspirin than recommended by doctors as he wants nice thin blood pouring through his heart.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt also said that Trump hit his hand on the corner of the signing table during the Board of Peace announcement, which led to the bruise.

It is worth recalling that Leavitt had previously said that bruises were caused due to extensive handshakes. 

Donald Trump is the second oldest US President in history after Joe Biden who was 82 when he left the office.
