Shocker: 4 Indian Students Hurt in Russia Knife Attack

Four Indian students were among others injured in a knife attack at Russia’s Ufa, the Indian Embassy in Moscow posted on X.

According to local reports, a teenager carrying a knife resorted to an attack in the sports hall of a foreign students’ hostel at a University in Russia’s Bashkortostan Republic. Two police officers also suffered injuries in the attack.

PTI reports said that a teenager entered the State Medical University in Ufa with a knife and stabbed several students. When police swung into action and tried to arrest the teen, he resisted and stabbed them too. The attacker also inflicted harm on himself.

It is being speculated that there may have been two attackers. One of them, aged 15, has been taken into custody and admitted to a hospital, where he is reported to be in serious condition. The motive behind the attack remains unknown.

Many Indian students go to Russia to pursue medicine.
