The US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency has been cracking a strong whip on foreign nationals who don’t comply with the country’s laws and also deporting them back to their homeland. After the local law enforcement agencies release the criminals on bail, ICE is taking them into custody and removing them for the country.
As per the latest reports, ICE has apprehended two more Indian nationals allegedly involved in serious criminal activities as part of a national security and public safety enforcement operation.
They are identified as 30-year-old Hemant Khann Kumar, who was arrested following a conviction for an attempted lewd act involving a child, and Rinkesh Kumar Kaushikbhai Patel, a convict of a large-scale theft conspiracy totaling over $60,000.
Both these offenders were identified as being in the country illegally and are currently held in ICE custody pending formal deportation proceedings. While Hemant is living in California, Rinkesh Kumar is from Tennessee. These arrests were part of a weekend enforcement operation and many others from different countries were also nabbed by ICE authorities.
As the local courts are lenient towards these criminals and releasing them from jail after they served some part of their total sentence, ICE is taking them into custody and verifying their immigration status to deport them back to their countries.
As part of its latest crackdown, ICE arrested several murderers, paedophiles, sex criminals, violent assailants, drug traffickers, and fraudsters. Besides these two Indians, others nationals were also taken into custody with similar charges and those who are staying illegally in the USA.
