CM Revanth Raises H-1B Visa Crisis With US Ambassador

In the last one year, Telugu students aspiring for higher studies in USA and software professionals working on H-1B have faced numerous difficulties in getting Visa slots for approvals and renewals due to the stringent measures and tightening of norms introduced by Donald Trump’s administration.

As the US Consulate in Hyderabad processes thousands of applications pertaining to Telugu states, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has now stepped in address the woes by taking the concern of applicants directly to the US ambassador.

He met the US ambassador to India Sergio Gor during his current visit to New Delhi. During their thirty-minute meeting, Revanth asked the US government to simplify the process for H-1B visas. He pointed out that working professionals from Telangana face frequent delays during visa applications, renewals, and passport stamping procedures.

He also requested that American authorities share official information in advance whenever they plan to update visa regulations. Beyond work visas, Revanth Reddy raised concerns regarding students from Telangana who travel to America for higher education. He asked the ambassador to increase the total number of student visas allocated to applicants from the state

The Chief Minister used the meeting to present Telangana as an attractive destination for foreign investments. He invited American companies to establish operations in the state. In response, Ambassador Sergio Gor assured the Chief Minister of full cooperation to expand long-term ties with Telangana.

Revanth Reddy’s proactive approach to address a burning issue is now receiving widespread acclaim because so many applicants have suffered a lot due to lack of adequate Visa slots.
