Times Square stabbing : Woman Attacks 2, Killed By Police

Times Square is a bustling centre of New York City in USA. On Monday afternoon, a middle aged woman created ruckus when she started stabbing people randomly for no reason with two knives in her possession at the West 42nd Street and Seventh Avenue, a place usually filled with tourists.

The attacker stabbed two people during the random rush of violence. A woman who was hit by the blade died from her injuries soon after the assault. A man was also badly hurt in the attack and remains in critical condition at a nearby hospital.

After stabbing the two victims, the attacker ran toward a nearby police station while still holding both weapons. Officers caught up to her and ordered her to drop the knives immediately. When she refused, police tried to neutralise her, but she pulled the knives out and kept stepping toward the officers.

With the armed suspect still moving toward them, officers opened fire to stop the threat. The woman was struck by bullets and fell to the ground in front of a crowd of onlookers. Emergency workers rushed her to the hospital, where medical staff declared her dead.

Police believe the attacker was emotionally disturbed and acted alone without any clear reason or link to terrorism. Her identity and the details of those who were attacked by her are not yet revealed officially.
