In the last few years, we have witnessed multiple cases of Indian-origin fraudsters duping the American population of millions of dollars.

Something similar has happened now, as an Indian-origin illegal immigrant in the United States has reportedly duped NFL superstar and pop sensation Taylor Swift’s husband, Travis Kelce, of millions of dollars.

Going into the story, Travis Kelce was reportedly cheated by an Indian-origin man named Siddharth Jawahar, who posed as an investment manager. He was apparently a victim of a Ponzi scheme that was designed and executed by this Indian illegal immigrant.

Siddharth Jawahar, a 38-year-old illegal immigrant, pleaded guilty to three counts of wire fraud and has now been sentenced to 11 years in federal prison and ordered to pay more than $31 million in restitution.

Prosecutors say Jawahar took in more than $35 million but invested only about $10 million, using new investor money to repay earlier clients and fund private jets, luxury hotels and expensive outings.

It is reported that Siddharth had run an elaborate scheme that cheated Americans out of more than $35 million, and he is now having to repay around $31.35 million while serving 11 years in jail. It is shocking to see some of the biggest celebrities in the world falling prey to such fraudulent practices.
