Riyadh airport Hit By Missile, 12 Killed And 300 Injured

Middle East countries have been frequently targeted by both sides during the ongoing US – Iran conflict, leaving many casualties and huge infrastructure damage. In another serious civilian attack, the main airport in Saudi Arabia’s capital city Riyadh has been targeted by missile attacks on Saturday by Houthi militants.

Reports say that the unprovoked strike left at least 12 people dead and over 300 others seriously injured. Thick black smoke went up into the sky, and people inside were seen running away as parts of the ceiling fell down near the gates.

Out of all the people who died, four were from Saudi Arabia, two from Bangladesh, and one each from America, Jordan, Palestine, Syria, Sudan, and Egypt. Because of this attack, all flights and works at the King Khalid International Airport are closed right now.

This unfortunate attack comes just a few days after government-allied forces in Yemen started fighting back hard. Those troops tried to recapture the important Bab al-Mandab strait from Houthi control.

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump said he is looking closely at the situation. He mentioned that the United States might join hands with Saudi Arabia to launch new strikes against the rebels in Yemen.

The sudden escalation in tensions started causing major problems for travelers because flights had to be stopped or diverted to other places. Many countries are now warning their citizens to stay away from the Riyadh airport.
