The previous YCP administration and its ecosystem face several allegations of misconduct and abuse of power during 2019–24. It turns out that these controversies were not limited to Andhra Pradesh but had reportedly reached the United States as well.
Going into the story, a local YCP leader named Venkatesh Reddy, who is from Palnadu region had been staying in the United States for many years and he had even served in the US Army.
Incidentally, Venkatesh Reddy took one of his own villagers Pulla Reddy to the United States in 2022 the disguise of funding his studies and getting him a job.
However, immediately after Reddy landed in the United States, he was abused badly by Venkatesh Reddy, and his friends Nikhil and Shravan. The three of them used to reportedly torture Pulla Reddy every day by not providing him with food, bathroom breaks and related activities.
Pulla Reddy was able to escape and report this atrocity to the local Police in 2023, and a case was filed subsequently. This has now resulted in extreme jail sentence to Venkatesh Reddy and his friends. Venkatesh will have to serve 50 months of jail terms while Nikhil and Shravan will have to serve 37 and 30 months, respectively.
This Venkatesh Reddy is the son of former Vinukonda MPTC Sattaru Pushpa Reddy who is also a crucial leader for YCP in this region.
