Looted Luxury Items Hit Black Market After France Riots

Luxury handbags and other expensive products allegedly looted from stores during recent riots in France have started appearing on second hand selling platforms. Items from brands like Louis Vuitton, Celine and Hermes are among those raising concerns.

The online marketplace Vinted has reportedly seen a rise in suspicious listings following the looting. Designer bags, cosmetics and perfumes are being offered at heavily discounted prices, creating doubts about whether the products were legally obtained.

The issue has attracted attention as several luxury stores were targeted during the violent unrest. Pictures circulating online reportedly showed looted products being listed for sale soon after the incidents.

French Digital Minister Anne Le Hénanff has demanded the removal of suspected stolen goods from online platforms and called for cooperation with authorities to identify and prosecute those responsible.

Vinted said it had taken action against suspicious listings and increased monitoring. Experts have also warned shoppers to be careful when buying luxury products online, especially when brand new items appear at unusually low prices soon after the riots.

Playing Ram Was An Incredible Emotional Journey: Ranbir

A sea of fans, a grand atmosphere and powerful messages about Indian cinema marked the massive pre-release event of Ramayana in Hyderabad. The scale of the gathering reflected the excitement surrounding the epic. Yash, who takes on the formidable role of Ravana, delivered an impassioned address urging the Indian film fraternity and audiences to support ambitious projects that aim to take the country's cinema to the world. Beginning with Telugu cinema's remarkable international journey, he pointed to Baahubali and RRR as examples of what Indian filmmakers can accomplish with vision and determination. “Rajamouli, Prabhas, Tarak, and Ram Charan have all played a significant role in this journey,” Yash said, acknowledging the contribution of Telugu cinema's leading names to India's growing global recognition. He observed that the Hindi film industry, too, is looking to build a stronger connection with audiences across South India. According to him, the way forward lies in collaboration, mutual respect and an exchangeof affection between different film industries. Yash reserved his strongest words for producer Namit Malhotra, whose determination to realise Ramayana on an unprecedented scale convinced him to become part of the project. Yash admired director Nitesh Tiwari's organised approach and ability to treat everyone on set equally. Hedescribed the contrast between the simplicity and divinity of Lord Rama's portions and the dark nature of Ravana as an important aspect of the film. He called Sai Pallavi's portrayal of Sita Mata special for its grace, devotion and motherly warmth. PraisingRanbir Kapoor, Yash said that playing Lord Rama was a tremendous responsibility because audiences already have a deeply established image of the character. “Ranbir has done a fantastic job, and I hope everyone gives him the…
