Rashmika Mandanna has reportedly been finalized to play legendary Carnatic vocalist MS Subbulakshmi, with an official announcement expected on September 16, her birth anniversary.
The biopic is helmed by Gowtam Tinnanuri of Jersey fame, produced by Allu Aravind, Bunny Vas, and Rockline Venkatesh. Sai Pallavi, the earlier choice, reportedly exited due to date issues, paving the way for Rashmika to take on this career-defining role.
On the style front, Rashmika recently stunned in a regal velvet anarkali blending emerald green with wine maroon panels, finished with heavy zardozi embroidery and a jeweled choker, a look dripping in old-world royal charm that had fans swooning.
Career-wise, things are looking busy for the National Crush. Up next are Mysaa, an action thriller, and Ranabaali, a period drama set against a freedom struggle backdrop, both signaling her shift toward meatier, content-driven roles.
