Rashmika Mandanna has been on a bit of a roll lately, she recently appeared in Cocktail 2, an above-average watch that kept her firmly in the conversation, and now she’s landed one of the biggest covers of the year.
The actor fronts Vogue India’s October issue, styled atop a surreal, hand-painted skyline of miniature buildings, cranes and red ladders, a sharp black pantsuit in one shot, a whimsical floral co-ord with a dramatic quiff in another. The shoot ties into her upcoming Milan trip, where she’ll attend Vogue World as the magazine’s representative, a big global flex for the Pushpa and Animal star.
In the interview, Rashmika addressed her years-long accent debate, South fans say it’s not South enough, North fans say it is. Her mother tongue is Kodava; she’s stopped trying to fix the contradiction.
On the work front, Rashmika Mandanna is playing legendary Carnatic vocalist MS Subbulakshmi in her upcoming biopic, MS: A Legacy On Screen.
