Top Three Corporations Heads ‘Reddy’

CM-Jagan

The government of Andhra Pradesh has appointed 135 nominated posts of various corporations in the state, under the leadership of Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. The government is claiming that it has allocated 56% of the positions to backward communities and minorities. It also proudly stated that 68 of the 135 nominated chairpersons are women.

However, some sections of people are alleging that even though most of the posts were given to the backward communities and minorities, the main posts were given to the Reddy community, to which Jagan belongs. They also alleged that none of these important corporations feature a woman as a chairperson.

The biggest boards in the nominated list are Tirumala Tirupati Devastanam, APIIC, and Maritime Board. The chairman post of TTD has been given to Jagan’s uncle YV Subba Reddy, who worked in the same position until last month. Many people objected to the decision on continuing him in the position. On the other hand, former Chief Minister Chandra Babu Naidu took a revolutionary decision of appointing a BC person as TTD chairman in the past.

Coming to APIIC, MLA Roja Reddy used to be the chairperson of it in the past. Now, she has been replaced by Metlu Govinda Reddy. Moreover, they removed a lady chairman and given it a male leader. This move is also facing criticism from many.

The same is the case with Maritime Board where Venkata Reddy has been appointed as the chairman. In this way, Jagan and his government are facing criticism for giving key positions to the Reddy community.

The CM and his government are yet to respond to these allegations. It has to be seen if they give any valid reason or try to evade the issue by making false statements.
