The crisis in Afghanistan is now a world issue. Like many countries, India is playing a spectator role but is closely watching the developments in Afghanistan and simultaneously busy evacuating the Indian citizens.
AIMIM party has responded on the Afghan crisis and shared a video clipping of its chief Asaduddin Owaisi who predicted this return of Talibans way back in 2013. In the years 2013, ’15 and ’19, Owaisi has raised this issue in Lok Sabha and appealed to the government of India to hold consensus with Taliban and come to an amicable solution. However, then respective governments ignored Owaisi’s suggestions.
BJP leader Vijayashanthi made satirical comments on Owaisi’s advice and added that instead of the government of India, Owaisi should go to Kabul and talk with Talibans. “When Afghan’s envoy to India is opposing Taliban’s rule and the Vice President of the country is still fighting against Taliban, what is the real purpose of Owaisi’s suggestion to hold talks with Taliban?” tweeted Vijayashanthi.
She added that instead of government of India, Owaisi should fly to Kabul and hold talks with Talibans. “If Owaisi can take initiative, then there might be a slight progress in Afghan crisis. He should definitely try it out,” wrote Vijayashanthi.
However, these comments are absolutely satirical in nature whereas Owaisi’s predictions have come true. Vijayashanthi should have understood the context of his statements and comments instead of mocking Owaisi.
