It’s been a week that the Taliban has taken over Afghanistan. Still hundreds of people are stranded at Kabul airport and evacuation operations are going on. Sunday morning 168 passengers including 107 Indian citizens landed at Hindon IAF base in Ghaziabad.
Among the returnees, Afghanistan MP Narender Singh Khalsa who belongs to the Sikh community also reached India. The media confronted the Sikh MP and when asked about the current situation in Afghan, the MP broke down into tears.
“I feel like crying…Everything that was built in the last 20 years is now finished. It’s zero now,” said MP Khalsa. His tears imply the grave situation in Afghan and from the media reports, we can hear that it’s even worse to describe in words.
Meanwhile, the returnees are being vaccinated with free Polio Vaccine – OPV & fIPV, as a preventive measure against Wild Polio Virus. Also RT-PCR tests are also being conducted to the passengers to avoid unwanted spread of Covid-19 virus.
