Revanth Reddy takes up the last wish of YSR!

The Telangana Congress has paid rich tributes to former CM YS Rajasekhar Reddy on his 12th death anniversary. T-PCC chief Revanth Reddy, KVP Ramachandra Rao, Shabbir Ali and a few more leaders offered homage to YSR’s photo in Gandhi Bhavan.

Later a small press meet was held and in this T-PCC chief Revanth Reddy vowed to take up the unfulfilled and last wish of YSR. Apparently after the 2009 general elections, YSR batted for Rahul Gandhi as Prime Minister of India. But it was Rahul Gandhi’s second election and Sonia Gandhi was not convinced with the idea despite many voices within the Congress.

But then YSR had pinned hopes on 2014 general elections and added that it was his wish to see Rahul Gandhi as PM. Unfortunately YSR died in a helicopter crash in September 2009 and after that Congress went into deep troubles. In two successive general elections, Congress faced a humiliating defeat and even shockingly RaGa lost at Amethi which has been Congress fort for decades.

Speaking on this occasion Revanth Reddy said, “Before YSR’s death, he wanted RaGa as PM. Probably it remained as his last wish and today I vow that I will fulfil YSR’s last wish. In that way it would be a true tribute to YSR who is a true Congress loyalist.”

That’s a challenging task ahead of Revanth and it means one election, three big goals i.e, dethrone TRS government in Telangana, BJP led NDA government in New Delhi and Congress should get a thumping majority in 2024 polls.
