The condition of roads across Andhra Pradesh is worse. Potholes, damaged roads and the water logging in main cities got exposed due to incessant rains in the last few weeks. The oppositions TDP and Jana Sena are attacking the YCP government for its negligence in handling and maintaining roads.
Counter attacking the YCP government has come with a strange logic that it’s due to the unprecedented rains in the state, roads got damaged but it’s just only at one or two places. On Monday CM Jagan held a review meeting and minister Peddireddy explained the details of this meeting.
“In our (YCP) rule, rainfall is being witnessed in good measure and so roads at a few places, were affected by the water. Our government was swift in doing the repair works. The previous TDP government laid just 330 kilometres of roads under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) while we have invited tenders for 3185 kilometres. So far 970 kilometres of new roads were laid and more under progress,” said Peddireddy.
On their plans for new roads, Peddireddy stated that CM Jagan has ordered for 5238 kilometres of roads by next autumn and expressed confidence that the state government would meet its target.
Taking visuals of one or two places, TDP and its tail Jana Sena are doing unnecessary rant and we are least bothered about them, said Peddireddy.
