Amidst rapid increase in Corona cases in Telangana, there have been widespread rumours that the state may enforce another lockdown. Rumours were rife that the state government is contemplating to announce a strict lockdown this time around, that the lockdown would come into effect after Telangana CM KCR’s video conference with PM Narendra Modi on June 17.
Speculations were rife that there could be a nation-wide lockdown with effect from June 18. In this backdrop, Telangana Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar clarified the ongoing rumours. When asked to respond, Somesh Kumar clarified that the Telangana state government has no thoughts on another lockdown.
However, rumours over another lockdown are on full throttle especially after Tamil Nadu announced complete lockdown till June 30. One has to wait for PM Modi’s interactions with Chief Ministers on June 16 and June 17. Let’s wait and see, what is in store.
