Telangana CM KCR has announced ₹ 5 Cr, a house site and Group-1 cadre Job to Late Colonel Santosh Babu’s family. KCR stated that he would personally visit the house of Santosh Babu’s family and hand over the compensation. KCR also announced a Group-1 cadre job to Col. Santosh Babu’s wife Santoshi. CM KCR said Telangana state is proud of him. KCR has also announced Rs 10 lakh compensation each to the other 19 soldiers who had lost lives while fighting with China’s PLA (People’s Liberation Army).
Col. Santosh Babu had bravely fought with Chinese troops at the LAC at the Galwan Valley in Eastern Ladakh and attained martyrdom on Monday night. Santosh Babu hailed from Telangana’s Suryapet. He had served as the Commanding Officer of 16 Bihar regiment. Santosh was the only son to retired SBI bank chief manager Upender and Manjula. In the 15-year-career, Santosh had received a commendation from the army-chief after he had fought terrorists earlier in Kupwara in Kashmir.
He was survived by his parents, his wife Santoshi, nine-year-old daughter Abhigna and four-year-old son Anirudh. In their 10 years of marriage, Colonel Babu and Santoshi stayed together for just about five as the Colonel was busy serving for the country at the border. Babu had sacrificed his family time to the country.
Considering all his services, the Telangana state government has announced compensation of Rs 5 Crore, a land site and Group-1 cadre job to his wife. CM KCR’s announcement received a lot of appreciation from all around.
