Kerala Minister Visits AP, Appreciates Jagan!

Kerala Minister

The YCP government has achieved yet another feather in its cap. A minister from neighbouring Kerala hailed the ration door delivery system as an ideal scheme among all others in the entire country. Through this system, the AP state government is supplying fine quality rice to 85 per cent of the beneficiaries and this is commendable, said G.R. Anil, civil supplies minister of Kerala.

The minister reportedly visited Andhra Pradesh to study the system and replicate it in their state. Sakshi, the media house owned by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, took to Twitter and announced about this proud achievement.

It may be recalled that even the Amma Vodi scheme was lauded by Nobel laureates, John B Goodenough (90) and Kailash Satyarthi. Goodenough, who had won the Nobel prize in Physics in 2019 for designing lithium-ion cathode batteries used in smartphones, described it as a revolutionary programme.

In a video message, Goodenough lauded the idea of a financially beneficial scheme for educating children in a country like India. He said he came to know of the scheme through an overseas education wing.

Nobel Peace prize winner Satyarthi met Jagan personally and told him that he was impressed by the CM’s ideas. Also, the Nobel laureate appreciated the AP government for setting up the volunteer system and village secretariats.

However, the ration door delivery system in Andhra Pradesh had drawn much criticism from the Opposition parties in Andhra Pradesh. The opposition leaders called it a waste of money and resources as they felt that taking ration from the fair price shop, which are mostly located near the beneficiaries’ houses, was not a tedious task.

The YCP leaders said that the scheme was introduced by Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy after seeing the plight of many old-aged beneficiaries standing in the queues at the fair price shops.

The YCP government might be slammed by the opposition parties and detractors in the state but the schemes introduced by Jagan, under the banner Navaratnalu, are winning encomiums from others across the country and globe.
