#WhoKilledBabai: Suspect Dastagiri Turns Approver

In a twist to the tale of YS Vivekananda Reddy’s murder, one of the suspects Sheik Dastagiri has turned approver. Dastagiri happens to be the driver of Viveka and the CBI which is probing the case zeroed upon four people as suspects.

On October 26th the CBI filed its charge-sheet and included the names of Erra Gangireddy, Sunil Yadav, Dastagiri and Umashankar Reddy as suspects. Before filing the charge-sheet, the CBI has probed all the four and later detained them with court’s permission. Four days before the charge-sheet i.e, on October 22nd, Dastagiri applied for bail and the court granted too.

On the same day the CBI too filed another petition in the Kadapa district’s sub court and informed the court that the suspect Dastagiri is turning approver under section 306 of CRPC. The CBI claimed in its petition that Dastagiri has valuable information related Viveka’s murder and he is cooperating with the probe agency for more details.

During the probe, the CBI has recorded the statement of all the four, especially Dastagiri. His testimony was also done before the Magistrate and this petition came for hearing on Thursday. The CBI informed the court that if the murder case has to move forward, the statement of Dastagiri who turned approver has to be recorded.

The court asked the opinion of other three suspects who are named in the charge-sheet by the CBI. We hear that the advocates of the three suspects raised objections over Dastagiri turning approver but requested the court to direct CBI to produce the statement recorded and testimony done before the Magistrate. Agreeing with the advocates of the suspects, the court asked the CBI to file counters and postponed the next hearing to November 17th.

These developments hint that Viveka’s case is moving at a good pace but Dastagiri turning approver is an unexpected move. Will there be another twist to this murder myustery?
