The young and dynamic Telugu Desam MP Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu, who is also the son of TDP senior leader and former minister late K. Yerran Naidu, was chosen for the Sansad Ratna 2020 award. He also set a record of being the youngest MP to bag the award. Speaking on the occasion, Rammohan Naidu said he would dedicate the award to the TDP cadre and Kinjarapu sympathisers.
The award, constituted in 2010 under the guidance of former President of India late A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, is given to the best performing MP. This year, 11 MPs were chosen to give away the awards. Of them, eight are from Lok Sabha and two from the Rajya Sabha.
Lok Sabha MPs include Rammohan Naidu (TDP-AP), Shashi Tharoor (Congress-Kerala), Nishikant Dubey (BJP-Jharkhand), Subhash Ram Rao Bhumre (BJP-Maharashtra), Ajay Misra (BJP-Uttar Prdesh), Heena Gavit (BJP-Maharashtra), Supriya Sule (NCP- Maharashtra), Amol Ram Singh Kole (CP- Maharashtra).
Rajya Sabha members include Chaya Varma (Congress- Chattisgarh), Visambar Prasad Nishad (Samajwadi Party-UP) and P.C. Gaddi Gouder (Agriculture committee chairman).
