Sonu Sood Announces His Sister’s Political Entry

Bollywood actor Sonu Sood announced that his sister, Malvika Sood Sachar, was ready to enter politics and that a decision on which political party she would be joining is yet to be taken. Sood said that they will reveal about the party at the right time. He made the announcement that his sister was ready to serve the people of Punjab ahead of Assembly polls in the state.

Addressing mediapersons at his residence in Moga, Sood said that Malvika’s commitment to serve the people is unparalleled. Sood said that he recently met with Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi and added that he was planning to meet other political leaders like Aam Aadmi Party’s Arvind Kejriwal and Shiromani Akali Dal chief Sukhbir Singh Badal.

Sood said that joining a political party is a big decision in life and that it involves belief in ideologies and not just meeting people. The actor said that his sister was likely to contest from Moga constituency and that her priority would be healthcare and unemployment. If elected, Malvika will ensure that those needing dialysis would be provided with it for free, he added.

“Youths in Punjab take to drugs only when they are unemployed and we are already looking into the issue,” he said.

When asked if he too would join politics, the actor, who had claimed that he was not interested, said that he would reveal his plans later. When he had been the Messiah for many during the pandemic, people suggested that he enter politics as he has a platform but he gave an epic reply by tweeting, “Platform par rajneeti hoti hai aur zameen par kaam” (Politics happens on the platform, and work on the ground).
