AP Employees Declared War Against Jagan

In a big shock to Jagan’s government, the state government employees have declared to go on the warpath and serve notice about the same to the Chief Secretary on December 1, 2021, as their demands for implementation of 11th PRC and immediate release of Rs 1,600-crore DA arrears have not been met.

The Amaravati JAC and Andhra Pradesh JAC leaders have together decided to launch an agitation seeking fulfilment of their demands. They also released their action plan — details of the series of protests planned at various district and regional headquarters on various days in December. The employee organisations reminded that political advisor to the CM Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy promised to finalise the PRC issue by the end of October but later kept on extending the deadline and that it remained an unfulfilled demand, even till date.

For the last one month, we kept doing rounds of the higher officials but nothing has taken shape till now, the leaders said.

Amaravati JAC leader Bopparaju Venkateswarlu also condemned the dilemma expressed by Finance Minister Buggana Rajendranath Reddy about whom should the government consider to be the priority for payment — 90% of the poor or 10% of the employees. The employees are demanding for their dues and PRC report which is their right, he said, and opined that minister Buggana had insulted the employees by making such statements.

Further, Bopparaju also said that Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy was an inexperienced leader who took up administration of the state just 2 years ago after being elected as the CM. He said that the employees were not considering Jagan’s statements and assurances at all as they sounded senseless and impractical.

AP JAC leader Bandi Srinivas also said that the government had not paid them the amount towards earned leaves and that it did not resolve the issues of the retired employees too. We kept believing in the promises of the higher officials like Chief Secretary and the chief advisor but they have failed to keep their word, he said and lamented that the state government was not in a position to at least deposit their salaries on the 1st of every month.

This indicates the deep financial crisis the state has gone into and it has to be seen how the powers that be would pacify the employees.
