One of the top priests of Tirumala P Seshadri, also known as Dollar Seshadri, passed away today in the wee hours. Dollar Seshadri had come to Visakhapatnam to attend the auspicious Kartheeka Deepotsavam ritual. At around 4 am today, he suffered heart attack. Even before he was rushed to hospital, he is said to have breathed his last. Seshadri was 75. He was serving as the Officer on Special Duty (OSD) at TTD.
Seshadri had been serving Lord Balaji’s temple at Tirumala since 1978. He was retired in July 2006. Recognising his service for last 5 decades, the government extended his service and made him as the OSD. TTD’s Additional EO Dharma Reddy expressed grief over the passing away of Seshadri. He said it’s a great loss to the TTD and his place is irreplaceable.
