Why Can’t Courts Take Over Government: AP Speaker

Andhra Pradesh Assembly Speaker Tammineni Sitharam has made controversial comments on courts. Well, if we go back in time, the AP High Court has intervened in many controversial decisions of the YSRCP government and had overturned them. Be it in the case of AP Election Commissioner and others, the High Court found fault with AP government.

Speaking on the whole thing, Speaker Tammineni said, “I’m seeing weird political happenings in AP for the first time in fifty years. The Court is sending directives to government on what to do and what not to do. In that case, why there is a need for MLAs, CM, Assembly and MPs? Why can’t the court run the government?”

These are quite strong statements from the speaker himself and he might invite trouble for this. Earlier this year, the High Court expressed its seriousness on politicians especially the ruling party leaders like Amanchi Krishna Mohan for making critical comments against High Court’s decision.

Will the High Court take a note of Speaker Tammineni’s comments also? Can’t say!!
