The Andhra BJP is coming up with new proposals and demands every other day and over the last few days we have seen a few BJP leaders demanding the state government to rename Jinnah Centre and Tower in Guntur city and before that the P BJP chief Somu Veerraaju’s statements on ‘Cheap Liquor for Rs 50’ went viral.
Freshly Somu put forward a new demand and it is related to Vizag’s King George Hospital (KGH). “The government should reconsider the name of KGH and it should be renamed after Tenneti Viswanatham or Gouthu Lachchanna,” said Somu.
The BJP chief also recalled the contribution of engineer Veeranna who was instrumental in the construction of Sir Arthur Cotton and Dowleswaram (Dhavaleswaram) Barrages.
Defending his comments on cheap liquor for Rs 50, Somu added that if the prices are brought down, the poor would save Rs 2 Lakh per year and it would be of great help for them.
Sticking to the same comments, Somu added that if BJP is voted to power in AP, the state government will bring new liquor policy that would bring down the prices for the benefit of the poor.
These contrasting statements from the BJP chief sound seriously odd. Why is the party unable to take up real issues?
