Ending the suspense on Pay Revision Commission (PRC), the Andhra Pradesh government finally announced 23 percent fitment to its employees. Also the state government assured its employees that it would resolve the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) by July 30th this year.
Besides the above, the AP government also increased the retirement age for employees from 60 to 62 years while the monetary benefits will be applicable from April 2020. The revised pay scales will be implemented from January 1st 2022. With these latest decisions, the AP government will incur a burden of Rs 10,247 crore.
Speaking on the occasion, AP Employees Federation Chairman Venkata Rami Reddy welcomed the AP government’s announcement. “We are happy with the hike. I agree that some of our demands are not met but the government promised to settle the five pending Dearness Allowance (DA) at one go and this would benefit us immensely,” said Venkata Rami Reddy.
