In view of the rise in Covid-19 cases, the AP government brought in the night curfew and starting from today, the state will observe restrictions from 11 PM to next morning 5 AM. Accordingly the show timings have been altered by the theatres across the state.
The morning show begins at 11 AM while the second (last) show in a single screen theatre is scheduled at 8 PM. Also the occupancy in theatres has been reduced to fifty percent and this will dent the collections of movies that were released for Sankranthi festival.
Meanwhile the new Covid-19 cases in AP have spiked drastically. In the last 24 hours, 6,996 cases have been lodged and there is a 70 percent increase in the caseload.
Chittoor district posted 1534 cases while Vizag added 1263 cases. Officials claim that Sankranthi festival is the prime reason behind the surge in new infections.
