‘Kadapa Killers’, Somu Says Sorry!

AP BJP chief Somu Veerraju is finding himself on the wrong foot these days with his controversial statements. On cheap liquor, Somu’s comments garnered national attention and he became a laughing stock. Now the BJP chief’s remarks against Rayalaseema region having airports invited a huge uproar.

“Is airport necessary for Kadapa people who commit crimes like murders?” questioned Somu. This statement did not go down well with the ruling and opposition parties in AP. From YCP to the Communist parties, everyone lashed out at Somu.

Yet Somu woke up late in this episode and issued an apology. “My intentions were not to hurt the sentiments of people of Rayalaseema. The slogan ‘Rayalaseema… Ratnala Seema’ stays in my heart and in case, if anyone is hurt with my comments, I’m absolutely sorry,” clarified Somu.

But that’s not over yet. The BJP chief went on to make irrelevant comments on Kadapa airport. “It’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government that allotted Kadapa airport,” said Somu which is quite shocking. Well it’s a surprise that Somu had no knowledge that Kadapa had an airport for decades now.

It’s high time Somu comes prepared for press meets hereafter. These comments don’t do any good for him as well as for his party in the state.
