The Telangana High Court has extended its stay on the demolition of Secretariat. Last Friday, the court issued a stay following the petition of Professor PL Vishweshar Rao. The court asked the advocate on behalf of Telangana government to file a counter petition and asked the demolition drive to be put on hold for three days i.e till Monday.
This morning the case for hearing and Advocate General of government informed the judge about the High Court’s verdict dated back to June 30th. However the High Court asked for a copy of the state government’s cabinet resolution on demolition of old secretariat and construction of the new. The court further said to the AG to file the cabinet resolution in a sealed cover by the end of the day.
With this the High Court has extended the stay on demolition of the current secretariat till July 15th. The court also asked the petitioner to file their objections by tomorrow.
The latest update on current Secretariat has turned into a suspenseful episode. Will there be any final twist is something to be seen.
