KCR Announcement Troubles Jagan

Tension prevailed at Dharna Chowk in Vijayawada as police took leaders of various student unions and unemployed youth into custody even as they were staging a protest demanding that the YCP government fill up vacancies in various government departments and also release job calendar every year, as promised by YCP president and Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy during his padayatra.

Just a couple of days ago, Chief Minister of neighbouring Telangana announced that the TRS government would provide 80,000 plus jobs to the youth in the coming days and some MLAs even made announcements to provide free coaching to the students and youngsters in their constituencies, to train them to grab the jobs.

The announcements by KCR and his ministers seem to have put Jagan into trouble.

The TDP youth wing leaders and unemployed youth who participated in the stir in Vijayawada threatened to intensify their agitation if the government did not swing into action in this regard. They condemned police action against them as they were protesting for fulfillment of a promise made by Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy during his electioneering. “Jagan’s government did not give any jobs except those of the volunteers in the village/ward secretariats in the last three years. Jagan fooled the youth in the name of jobs and job calendars,” they said.

The protestors raised slogan against the CM and YCP government.

TNSF leaders and youth entered into an altercation with the police as they tried to take them into custody in Srikakulam. The cadre of the opposition party demanded that jobs be provided to youth as promised by J

In Vizag, TDP cadre staged a protest at the Gandhi statue near GVMC office. They demanded that GO No. 36 be scrapped. TDP leaders including former minister Bandaru Satyanarayana, Palla Srinivas and party corporators were among those who registered their protest.

The TDP cadre also protested against issuing of urban land ceiling (ULC) notices. They said that it was not fair on the part of the TDP leaders to issue the notices without dividing the land. Even private are being considered as encroached lands and seized, they lamented.

It may be recalled that a building owned by former TDP MLA Palla Srinivas was demolished overnight in Gajuwaka alleging that it was built on encroached land, in April last year. Jagan’s greediness and lack of awareness on various issues is putting people to several problems, they said.

The TDP men also took exception to Jagan imposing tax on bathrooms and waste. “Did former CM N. Chandrababu Naidu impose such foolish taxes? During the TDP rule, we tried to produce fuel from solid waste and generate wealth. No such steps are being taken by Jagan.”

They said that the ULC notices issued regarding surplus lands in Vizag do not conform to legal regulations. They urged the people being forced to pay taxes in connection with these lands not to shell out any money as the TDP was fighting a legal battle on the issue.
