There are a slew of news channels in the Telugu states. In fact, Telugu states have the maximum number of regional satellite news channels and local news channels in the country. The number of news channels in Telugu is perhaps only next to Hindi news channels. Even the viewership for the Telugu news channels is also commendable. It means, Telugu people are more glued to news channels compared to other states.
The latest data of the TRPs is out. As per the data collected between Feb 2, 2022 to March 11, 2022, the NTV has emerged as the No.1 news channel in the Telugu states. TRPs of NTV is estimated to be 73.8 for the period, TV9’s average viewership is at 55.0.
While Telangana news channel V6 stood at number 3 with average TRP of 30, TV5 news channel is at 4th place with average viewership of 19.3. AP CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy-owned Sakshi TV stood at 5th place with 16.1 TRP. T-News Channel came in 6th place with 13.9 TRP.
ABN Andhra Jyothi that took a stand in favour of opposition TDP in AP came at the 7th place with average rating of 13.8. It is followed by 10 TV news that is at eighth place. HMTV and Mahaa News are in the 9th and 10th spots respectively. ETV Andhra Pradesh and ETV Telangana are in the 11th and 12th places.
While NTV made it to the top for the previous month, it needs to be seen whether it retains the top spot or not for the successive month. All eyes are on the ratings chart of the next month.
