AP CM YS Jagan has set a deadline for Polavaram dam’s completion and he made a statement regarding the same in AP Assembly. “Mark my words, by 2023 Kharif season, my government will complete the Polavaram project,” said Jagan.
“It’s because of Chandrababu, Polavaram had faced many problems. In his regime, Chandrababu wasted Rs 100 crore of taxpayers money just touring the construction site. The lower coffer dam was also badly damaged, with a 35.6-meter-deep sock formed on the foundation and inside. But during the construction TDP did ‘bhajana’ for Chandrababu while facts were distorted using his yellow media,” said Jagan.
On several media reports that the project height was cut down, Jagan clarified that it’s not the project’s height that is reducing but it’s Chandrababu’s stature. “In previous TDP government said that they would complete the project with 2013-14 budget estimates, which is not possible currently. Chandrababu is the prime reason for huge delay in the construction because he was busy collecting commissions from contractors. Thus his party was defeated in 2019 and in the next general elections, Chandrababu will lose Kuppam too,” said Jagan.
Lastly CM Jagan dropped a big detail that after completing Polavaram project, YSR’s statue will be established at the location. “It was my father who ideated Polavaram and as his son and successor, it is my responsibility to complete it and will definitely do it,” announced Jagan.
