Cabinet Saga: Kakani vs Anil Yadav

It’s been just 24 hours that the new cabinet of CM YS Jagan took shape and already the differences between the YCP leaders are making headlines. And everyone knows the rivalry between former irrigation minister Anil Kumar Yadav and new agriculture minister Kakani Govardhan Reddy.

When Anil was the minister, Kakani maintained distance and their cold war is always a hot topic in Nellore politics. Kakani, who represents Sarvepalli constituency, never invited Anil Yadav to the former’s constituency even for the developmental works.

Fates have changed yesterday with Anil becoming ex-minister and Kakani getting inducted into the cabinet. But then Anil Yadav did not forget what Kakani has done to him. Speaking in Nellore, Anil Yadav made satirical comments on minister Kakani that he would pay back everything with double interest.

“When I was the minister, Kakani showered me with a lot of respect and affection. He supported me like no one. In the same manner, I would extend my full cooperation to Kakani,” said Anil Yadav. The tone in which Anil made these comments evoked laughter from Anil’s followers and the journalists who were present there.

Anil also added that he did not receive an invitation from Kakani for the swearing in ceremony and so he stayed away but Anil said he would definitely attend minister Kakani related events.

And lastly Anil commented that hereafter he would target TDP and Jana Sena with double force. “I had my inhibitions when I was a minister and now that I’m free of certain responsibilities, I will take on oppositions who criticise my leader Jagan,” added Anil.

So the cabinet reshuffle saga continues and there was some sense of disappointment in Anil Yadav’s statements or maybe he is frustrated for not getting retained.
