‘They Are Not Allowing Me to Distribute 1 Lakh Crs’

Praja Shanti party founder and evangelist Dr KA Paul fumed at Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and his son, K.T. Rama Rao, who is also a minister, after being attacked by ‘a TRS activist’ belonging to Jillela village at Jakkapur in Siddipet district when he was on way to console distressed farmers at Sircilla. He was slapped by the ‘TRS activist’ even in the presence of the DSP Chandrasekhar.

Paul said that he was not given security even when he began pursuing the matter a year ago and that the officials in Telangana have not been giving ground permission for his ‘Santhi Sabhas’ for the last eight years. “I had an idea to distribute Rs 1 lakh crore to the poor in both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana during the Sabhas but you have not been allowing me to do it.”

He also alleged that KCR and KTR were trying to brand him as anti-Telangana. In fact, you are betrayers of Telangana because you are neglecting the farmers and youth in the state, he said.

He expressed agony that the powers that be were neglecting the hardships of farmers and youth, who were dying in lakhs, due to distress. He alleged that the attack on him was done at the behest of KCR and KTR but that he was not going to shirk from his goal. He said that he was not afraid of the father-son duo. “How long can you put me under house arrest? What is my crime? I want to meet the DGP but they are telling me that he is busy. Then let me wait till he becomes free,” he said.

Usually, Paul appears on the political scene right before the elections. However, he made his entry a year ahead of the polls.
