Modi sarkar’s first strike against TRS govt

Mission Bhagiratha is the brainchild of Telangana CM KCR and with this scheme, the state government aimed to provide top (drinking) water to every household in the state. To an extent, the TRS government was successful in implementing this scheme. But recently in Hyderabad, a few colonies received polluted water and that exposed the loophole.

And in a massive setback to the TRS government, the PM Modi government has initiated an investigation into ‘Mission Bhagiratha’ scheme. Issuing the orders for a probe, the Modi sarkar also appointed a special officer to handle the inquiry.

Apparently the Jal Jeevan Commission conducted a survey on the implementation of Mission Bhagiratha. The Commission’s survey report was recently submitted to the Centre and based on the report, a complaint was received by the Union Ministry of Water Resources against the scheme. Reacting to the complaint, the GoI directed a probe.

So this is the first strike of Modi sarkar against the TRS government in the last eight years. As the Assembly elections approach, the Delhi government may launch multiple investigations in the form of probe agencies, opine the political analysts.

The TRS is yet to react on this but it would certainly respond very strongly. We may not be surprised if CM KCR calls for a press meet and clarifies the details.
