APSRTC: No for TDP, Yes for YSRCP!

TDP vs YSRCP

The Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) exposed itself by favouring the ruling party in the state. Going into details, the TDP is going to host Mahanadu at Manduvavari Palem in Prakasam district on May 27th and 28th.

For the two day conclave, TDP approached the APSRTC for travel arrangements to be made for party leaders and activists from all over the state. Initially the APSRTC showed interest in arranging the buses while Telugu Desam was ready to pay advance as well. But all of a sudden the APSRTC is declining to arrange buses citing shortage of buses due to heavy demand in the summer season.

When the TDP leaders tried to meet the officials of the RTC, they avoided and this attitude shocked the TDP.

On the other hand, APSRTC is working on arranging buses for ministers who will be touring districts as per the advice of CM Jagan. The YCP ministers will be touring Srikakulam on 26th, Rajamahendravaram on 27th, Narsaraopet on 28th and Anantapur in 29th of this month. For the same APSRTC is deploying private buses that belong to the private schools. Currently RTC is gathering information on the availability of buses in the above-mentioned districts.

Apparently there are clear set of rules in place that buses belonging to schools and colleges shouldn’t be used for private purposes. Setting these rules aside, the RTC is working on acquiring buses for the ministers’ tour.

With the RTC declining to arrange buses, the TDP is said to be trying to get private buses. Learning about this the Transport Authority is reportedly intimidating the private operators with fitness issues and even threatening to seize the vehicles.

These dual standards of APSRTC and Transport Authority is a clear message that the officials have made an understanding with the ruling party. TDP’s Mahanadu is not a new event and every year, the two day conclave is held in a grand manner and TDP takes the assistance of RTC for travel arrangements.
