Today marks three years of YS Jagan Reddy led YSRCP government in AP. With another two years to go, we cannot judge Jagan Reddy’s performance until the next polls are held. Yet some facts must be admitted.
Firstly the YCP government is yet to recognise the new pension beneficiaries. There is a criticism on the Jagan sarkar that it is deliberately turning away to add new pension beneficiaries citing that all belong to the main opposition, Telugu Desam. Recently in Bobbili and Kurnool, the beneficiaries pleaded to be included in the pension scheme but their requests went in vain. While volunteers are executing the welfare schemes yet their implementation is not up to the mark.
“People’s faith in the form of vote should reflect when Rs one lakh crore is being spent on welfare schemes,” is Jagan’s opinion but TDP views that budget allocations on welfare schemes is not proportionate to votes.
A media outlet has reportedly done a survey on Jagan’s three years performance and shockingly sixty percent people are not satisfied with the work done. While some are admitting that the YCP government is not delivering what was promised, it seems that the ruling party is swaying with rage without knowing the facts.
Welfare doesn’t mean just distribution of schemes, they should be able to give employment opportunities to the deserving. There are still a lot of villages without no proper roads and indeed the YCP government hasn’t really addressed this issue on a priority basis.
The Village Heads (Sarpanch) across many villages in the state say they are in a situation where they can’t even fix the smallest of roads due to scarcity in funds. The Sarpanchs’ Association of Panchayati Raj has said that the government has not responded even though they are already fighting for justice as the YCP government is squandering the funds granted by the Center.
Simultaneously the employees are very dissatisfied with the YCP government’s attitude. Without funding for employment tasks, the YCP government is framing the employees that fault is on their side instead of clearing the pending bills. These are allegations of employees and local body representatives and they are seriously unhappy with the state government.
