Mission South: BJP to hold key meetings in Hyd

BJP

BJP is highly influential in north India but its attempts in south failed miserably except in Karnataka. This time the national leadership of BJP is quite serious on making a mark in all the south states especially in Telangana. Accordingly the BJP leadership has decided to host national working committee meetings in Hyderabad.

These meetings are scheduled for two days (July 2nd and 3rd) and the likes of PM Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, National President JP Nadda, BJP chief ministers and many other prominent leaders would be gracing the occasion.

BJP will be zeroing on strategies to be implemented in south states to win the confidence of the people that would benefit the party during elections. But BJP’s main aim is Telangana and the party wants to form the next government in the state by all odds.

After 2014, this is for the third time that BJP has preferred south for its national working committee meetings. In 2015, Karnataka hosted these meetings and in 2016, Kerala was the host. Coming to the latest meetings, Novotel Hotel in Kondapur will be the venue and T-BJP leaders are making unprecedented arrangements with top leaders arriving from New Delhi.

Yet there are huge challenges ahead for the BJP in the south. In Tamil Nadu and Kerala, BJP has very minimal presence and things are somewhat better in Telangana compared to AP.

Can BJP breach the walls of the south in 2024?
