With the guidelines of Unlock 2.0 ending on July 31st, the Union Government has formulated fresh guidelines for the Unlock 3.0. In a major disappointment and the contrary to several media reports, the Government hasn’t allowed the reopening of the Cinemas. This is despite the recommendation of the I&B Ministry to the Home Ministry and this is despite the recommendations of alternative seats and rows, the government hasn’t permitted for the reopening of movie theatres in the Unlock 3.0.
As the Covid-19 cases are growing rapidly and India crossed 15 lakh Corona Virus cases and daily spike in cases grew to nearly 50,000, the Centre has decided against the reopening of Cinemas, which is considered as a non-essential service.
Even the schools, colleges and educational institutions will remain shut till the end of August. Metro rail operations, swimming pools, entertainment parks, bars, auditoriums and other places with large gatherings will remain shut.
So, what is relaxed in Unlock 3.0 are gyms, yoga centers which are permitted under strict physical distances and other guidelines. The government has lifted the night curfew.
Meanwhile, the Union Government announced that the restrictions in the containment zones remain strict and intact. The relaxations such as reopening of gyms, yoga centers in contaminant zones are not allowed.
