In 2019 when Prime Minister Narendra Modi appeared in Discovery channel’s ‘Man vs Wild’ show, he disclosed to the host of the show, Bear Grylls that he once caught a young crocodile while swimming in a pond.
“While bathing in a pond, I saw a baby crocodile in the waters. I caught it and took it home. My mother was not pleased with my act and so I put the crocodile back in the pond,” Modi tells Grylls.
This bravery act of PM Modi has now made it to the text books of Class One. A private school in Tamil Nadu has incorporated this story of Modi into the textbooks under how ‘brave’ Modi was in his childhood on value education.
“The Prime Minister is like the monitor of the whole country. Narendra Damodardas Modi is the 14th and current Prime Minister of India. He was so brave in his childhood that once he caught a young crocodile and brought it home,” read the para in the textbook and a clipping of it surfaced on social media.
There is another book on Narendra Modi’s childhood and it is ‘Bal Narendra – Childhood Stories of Narendra Modi.’ In this book there is a chapter of a crocodile attacking Modi and he sustained stitches to his leg.
Such tales are never ending as Modi’s childhood is full of many things.
