High Court Exempts CM Jagan’s Personal Appearances

In what can be a huge sigh of relief for CM YS Jaganmohan Reddy, the Telangana High Court has struck down the CBI court order over Jagan’s daily appearances in connection with the Disproportionate Assets case.

The TS High Court has exempted CM Jagan from his personal appearances to the court’s proceedings and allowed his counsel to appear on his behalf since Jagan is discharging the duties as the CM of AP. However, the HC has ordered CM Jagan to personally appear when it is specifically required and mandated by the CBI court.

Earlier, the CBI Court had mandated Jagan’s personal appearance for daily proceedings. CM Jagan had then filed repeated petitions to the CBI court, Nampally seeking exemption from personal appearances. But all those petitions were turned down by the CBI court.

Jagan’s counsel S Niranjan Reddy is going to appear on his behalf for the court’s proceedings here after. The full copy of the High Court’s order is awaited to furnish the complete details.
