End of KA Paul’s Political Innings!

Christian evangelist KA Paul received a rude shock from the Election Commission of India (ECI) by derecognizing his political party, Praja Shanti Party. On Tuesday the ECI reviewed the status of various political parties in the country and it came to a conclusion that 537 parties exist only in name and in fact no activities are done on their behalf. All such parties were de-recognised in one go.

There are 20 such political parties from Telugu states who have lost their recognition due to the ECI’s action. Among these, the only party known to the people of Telugu states is the Praja Shanti Party floated by KA Paul.

Paul, who often holds press meets, informs the media that he will form the next government in Andhra and Telangana. But the irony is he provides a big relief for journalists when it comes to press meets. Paul gives much needed entertainment to journalists who get busy and tired in their day-to-day schedule.

Recently Paul asked Pawan Kalyan to merge Jana Sena with Praja Shanti party and also asked TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu to join hands with him. That way Paul dreamt of becoming Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and bring Lakhs and crores of investments to Andhra and Telangana. He criticised KCR for ignoring the development of Telangana and added that he would bring world reputed tech companies to Hyderabad if voted to power.

Paul always looked confident in whatever he said. He repeatedly said that whenever the elections are held, Praja Shanti Party led by him would come to power. He offered political parties in the country to ally with him to be part of Praja Shanti government.

But the fact is Paul does not care what image and impression people have on him. Now that the ECI has cancelled the recognition of his political party, his dream of becoming Chief Minister turned into a nightmare. Is that an end to Paul’s politics?
