In the last three years, the YCP government has taken many controversial decisions and this has irked many yet they supported Jagan only out of respect towards YSR. But the latest decision to rename NTR Health University after YSR, was a big move and this caught an uproar among those upset leaders. One after another, leaders are now leaving the party and positions.
Among those upset leaders is Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad. With NTR, Yarlagadda has a close association. He served as NTR’s personal advisor and his contribution in important matters were given priority. After the death of NTR, Yarlagadda wrapped up his relations with NTR’s family. In this order, he supported YCP and Jagan.
In course of time this association helped YCP to get political support. After YCP formed the government in AP, Yarlagadda was made Andhra Pradesh Official Language Commission Chairman (APOFLC). However, Yarlagadda endured the controversial decisions taken by the YCP government in the last three years. The noteworthy was converting all the Telugu medium schools into English medium and this put Yarlagadda in a spot of bother.
Being a writer and a huge fan of Telugu literature and language, Yarlagadda remained silent and the pressure was mounting on him to react to the YCP government’s decision. He was unmoved and now he ran out of persistence with renaming NTR Health University.
Hours after YCP brought this proposal, Yarlagadda resigned from the post of APOFLC. He said that the decision taken by the YCP government is very sad and added that this is totally inappropriate. Sources say that there are many such people who will come out in days to come.
We shall see how the YCP government and ministers defend themselves.
